Farmsafe WA's Emergency Care and Injury Management Project was previously awarded State Winner under the Not-For-Profit sector in August 2013, which was convened by the Department of Fire and Emergency Services. This title entered the Program as finalists at the National Resilient Australia Awards.

Farmsafe WA Chairman Mike Norton, accepted the Highly Commended title at the National Awards, on behalf of the organisation.

The Emergency Care and Injury Management Project is an awareness raising campaign that targets farmers, farm workers and their families, as well as members of the wider community, to cope with and manage various emergency situations. This project has been running for three years, as a result of funding from the Department of Health WA. The project has continued to deliver vital emergency preparedness knowledge and skills to the Wheatbelt, Midwest, Great Southern regions and currently, the South West. For more information, please visit the page through this link.

Farmsafe WA would like to acknowledge the project partners, namely WA Department of Fire and Emergency Services (WA DFES), St John Ambulance, WA Police and Royal Flying Doctor Service, who without their support it would not be possible to run this successful campaign and reach hundreds of people across Western Australia.

Farmsafe WA would also like to congratulate all the finalists and winners this year and the quality of campaigns and projects produced.
